What we do

Advocacy
Heritage Ottawa's advocacy work occurs as issues arise. Time honoured methods of lobbying, consulting, letter-writing, media exposure, publishing, are all part of the work we do. Participating in public consultation sessions, seminars and workshops related to heritage and urban planning, preparing and making presentations to such organizations as :

• LACAC (Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee)
• CHOO/COPO (Council of Heritage Organizations in Ottawa/Conseil des organismes patrimoine d'Ottawa)
• The Development Services Department and its Planning Branch of the City of Ottawa
• The Committee of Adjustment
• The Conservation Review Board
• And various community based organizations
